I explained to this teacher that her daughter can make money without stringing another bead by starting a blog and simply writing about jewelry.

In fact, she could "monetize" her blog (i.e., make money with her blog) by simply adding links to information products about jewelry.

Instead of merely trying to sell jewelry, her daughter could make money by simply writing about jewelry!

Oh, my goodness! The woman was completely blown away! The seed of home business ecommerce had just been planted.

In response to this, she replied, "Okay, this is amazing, but my daughter hasn't written any ebooks about making jewelry yet. That could take a while."

"She doesn't have to write any ebooks," I explained. "Other people have already written them."

You could almost see the gears turning in her head.

I showed her the sales pages of people who have already written all kinds of ebooks about making jewelry.

All her daughter would need to do is copy and paste a line of code (called an affiliate link) into her blog to these sales pages.

Her visitors could then buy ebooks that have already been written and are ready to be purchased and downloaded.

She Wanted to Know More...

I could tell this teacher seriously wanted to know more. Like I said, this truly was a teachable moment. She was diligently taking notes, and she was asking all the right questions. I could tell that she was ready for more.

So I showed her how this all works in more detail:

"Here's the sales page," I explained. "This is a long page in which the writer sells you on the benefits of purchasing their product right now."

"Okay," she said.

"Now click here," I told her. "We're not going to buy anything. I just want you to see the next page in the process."

"Okay," she said, and she clicked on the order button.

"Very good," I commended her. "This next page is the payment processing page. When visitors who came through your daughter's affiliate link place an order on this page, she will receive a commission on the sale... maybe 50% of the sale price all the way up to 75% of the sale price."

"Wow!" she said. "That would be about $25!"

"Now you're catching on," I said. "And the very next page the customer would see after the payment is processed successfully would be the "Thank You" page.

Her eyes brightened to the possibilities of home business ecommerce as we spoke.

"So there are three important pages:
(1) The Sales Page,
(2) The Payment Processing page and...
(3) The "Thank You" page

Incidentally, the "Thank You" page is where the customer gets to download the ebook they just bought."

That's when all the lights went on, and -- bless her heart -- she might as well have gone into orbit. She was just that excited about home business ecommerce.

I didn't even get around to telling her about the best blogging ebooks.
But she was so excited, that I didn't want to overwhelm her.

Nevertheless, I think we can safely say that this woman has seen a very exciting vision of home business ecommerce.

Affiliate Marketing

What I just illustrated for you is an example of how you can make "hands-free" and "hassle-free" money on the Internet without having to make, build or even ship a single item. What I described for this teacher is called affiliate marketing.

There are no materials to buy... no beads to string... no photographs to take... no items to list... no customer questions to answer... nothing.

Affiliate marketing is when you make money just by being affiliated with another organization or individual that has a product to sell on the Internet.

You simply include copy and paste an "affiliate link" into the HTML code of your website or blog. This affiliate link is a unique link that tracks commissions to you.

You receive this unique link when you sign up for an affiliate program.

When people your website and "click through" those links, they arrive at a sales page. When they buy, you make a commission.

Your commissions can be paid direct deposit to the checking account of your choice. It can be instantly transferred to an online account like your PayPal account if you have one. Or you can receive your commissions by checks in the mail.
